We at Tiyende Safari are excited to have you on board our 2020 Christmas Trip to Victoria Falls Zambia. We have carefully tailored this package for you and your loved ones and we believe the memories of this trip will be treasured for a lifetime.

Our Trip with you will take us a Total of 6days and 5nights from Lilongwe Malawi to Victoria falls in Livingstone City, Zambia through Lusaka and back. 

Interesting Facts:
Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and the major waterfall on the Zambezi River in Africa. It is famous for being the largest waterfall in the world, in the wet season

The African people who live around the falls call it Mosi-oa-Tunya which means “smoke that thunders”.

It flows 1,687 miles across Zambia, Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique until it reaches the Indian Ocean.

Day 1

  • 23rd December, 2020

Depart Lilongwe / Blantyre and continue to Zambia. This is a long drive, with a brief stop at Luangwa Bridge. ETA in Lusaka is late afternoon. On arrival we check into our partner’s Lodge in the middle of the city of Lusaka for an overnight. Dinner will be on Tiyende Safari’s bill [Driving time – approx 10 hrs] 

Day 2

  • 24th December, 2020

After breakfast we continue through Lusaka, over the Kafue River to Victoria Falls. ETA in Livingstone is mid afternoon and again reliant on current road conditions. Check into our well appointed and furnished rooms in our partner’s lodge. 

Day 3

  • 25th December, 2020

This is your first day of the tour open for you to experience the numerous activities and options that have established this area as the “Adrenaline Capital of Africa”. You have the entire 2 days to pursue the activity of your choice. Your guide is on hand throughout your stay to help you if needed.

Activities Included:

Complete Tour of Victoria falls

After breakfast you depart at 07hr for the falls. Your first activity of the day is a comprehensive tour of the falls on the Zambian side. You will, on this activity visit the information office where you read all information about the falls. You visit the flood plains, the Knife Edge Bridge, the islands, close range with the water curtain, the boiling point, the historical bridge and many other interesting features of the falls. After tour of the falls you walk straight to the historical bridge on the Zambezi. This bridge is also the boundary between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

You will proceed from the bridge and walk over to the Zimbabwe side, clear with immigration in Zimbabwe and walk over into the Victoria Falls Zimbabwe. There is a marked difference of the falls between Zimbabwe and Zambia. This tour of the falls on the Zimbabwe side gives you a 360 degree view of the falls and a better understanding of how complete this wonder is. After completing the tour on the Zimbabwe side, you will walk back to Zambia, get into your vehicle and drive back to your accommodation facility.

Day 4

  • 26th December, 2020

After breakfast you will be free to proceed with any other activities of your choice which are not part of this package. You can also choose to take a tour of Livingstone city as your activity of the day will be late afternoon.

Activity of the day from the package is Sunset Boat cruise on Zambezi

Witnessing the beautiful Victoria Falls as the sun sets is a magical experience! Climb aboard and drift down the Zambezi river while you enjoy the picture postcard panorama of the African continent.

At the indicated time, we will transfer you from your hotel to the river port on the Zambezi river. We will climb aboard a comfortable vessel to begin our tour down the river which is home to the famous Victoria Falls.

While the last rays of the sun fall over the Zambezi river, we will see how the landscape is transformed with warm orange tones. From the boat’s deck, you will have the opportunity to spot hippos, crocodiles, and even elephants on the banks or the river.

Against the backdrop of the setting sun, you will observe flocks of birds gliding through the sky and you will have a picture postcard panorama of the African continent. Snacks and drinks will be served onboard

Day 5

  • 27th December, 2020

After breakfast, we depart back to Lusaka. A leisurely drive brings us to our lodge in Lusaka for an Overnight. Dinner is on Tiyende Safari’s bill. [Driving time – approx 8 hrs]

Day 6

  • 28th December, 2020

After breakfast, we return to Lilongwe. Picnic lunch en route ETA in Lilongwe is late afternoon. [Driving time – approx 10 hrs]
