7 Days Northern Malawi

Luwawa Forest – is Malawi’s largest forest plantation, predominately pine trees, interspersed with endemic brachystegia trees and open “dambo’s” which attracts a host of birdlife. Nyika National Park Malawi’s largest NP , a vast range of rolling hills covered in montane grassland and fern heather communities. The range of flora attracts varied selections of wildlife and a major feature of a visit to Nyika is the number of birds you are likely to see [More than 400 species]. Livingstonia is sited between Nyika’s eastern edge and the lake. At 1000m there are superb views across to Tanzania and this historical mission station still retains the charm and character instilled by Robert Laws, a disciple of David Livingstone. Chintheche’s beaches are picture postcard with perfect white sand, jiggered rocky outcrops and remnant rainforests fringing the coastline.

Itinerary

Day One

With Tiyende Safari you will Head Northwards along the M1 to Luwawa Forest. Afternoon walk through the forest. Overnight Luwawa Forest Lodge on all meals basis.

Day Two

After breakfast, depart to Nyika National Park. 4 hrs to the park gates, then it’s a 2 hr drive through the reserve. Overnight Chelinda Camp in chalets overlooking the dam. All camp meals included.

Day Three

Morning and afternoon game drives / walks. Overnight Chelinda Camp chalets All meals included.

Day Four

After breakfast, with Tiyende Safari you will depart Nyika and drive to Livingstonia. The Mushroom farm is beautifully located on the edge of the escarpment near the historical Livingstone mission. Overnight chalets with all meals included.

Day Five

After a leisure breakfast, Tiyende Safari will take you down to Lake Malawi and onwards to Chintheche. Relaxing on the pure white sands. Overnight Makuzi Beach Lodge on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day Six

Return along the lakeshore to Lilongwe. Arrival in Lilongwe is early afternoon.

Included:All transport and return, all indicated accommodation, meals as indicated, Refreshments and Snacks, game drives, game walks.

Excluded: Drinks from the Bar, visa fees [if applicable], meals as indicated, boat trips at Makuzi.
