Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and the major waterfall on the Zambezi River in Africa. It is famous for being the largest waterfall in the world, in the wet season. The African people who live around the falls call it Mosi-oa-Tunya which means “smoke that thunders”. The water makes a roaring noise as it falls over the cliff and down into the Zambezi River below. A cloud of water vapor is always seen around the falls.
Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River is located on the border between the countries of Zambia and Zimbabwe in the continent of Africa.
The Zambezi River is the largest river in Africa and one of the longest.
It flows 1,687 miles across Zambia, Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique until it reaches the Indian Ocean.
550 million litres of water drops 305 feet (93 m) every minute over the cliff at Victoria Falls and continues flowing downstream as the lower Zambezi River
Itinerary
Day 1: Wednesday, 5th April 2023
Lilongwe to Lusaka
A Tiyende Safari Luxury Bus shall depart Lilongwe’s Gate Way Mall at 6am on a Road trip to Livingstone in Zambia via Malawi’s Mchinji boarder and through Lusaka where we shall sleepover at our pre-arranged accommodation on Bed and Breakfast basis.
Day 2: Thursday 6th April 2023
Lusaka to Livingstone
At 8am we shall depart for Livingstone via Kafue and expected time of arrival is late afternoon
Day 3: Good Friday, 7th April 2023
Complete Tour of Victoria falls
After breakfast we shall depart at 0800hr for the falls. The first activity of the day shall be a comprehensive tour of the falls on the Zambian side.
We shall, on this activity visit the information office where you gather all information about the falls. You visit the flood plains, the Knife Edge Bridge, the islands, close range with the water curtain, the boiling point, the historical bridge and many other interesting features of the falls. After tour of the falls you walk straight to the historical bridge on the Zambezi. This bridge is also the boundary between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Day 4: Saturday 8th April 2023
Optional Activities and Sunset Cruise
A Good Bright morning in Livingstone. Let’s get ourselves ready for the Adrenaline Activities (Not for the faint hearted yes).
Colleagues, this Morning you are free to take part in any of the numerous activities off the Package. Your Guide will be handy to facilitate and provide transport
Activity of the day is Sunset Boat cruise on Zambezi (From the Package)
Witnessing the beautiful Victoria Falls as the sun sets is a magical experience! Go onboard and drift down the Zambezi River while you enjoy the picture postcard panorama of the African continent.
At the indicated time, we shall transfer you from your hotel to the river port on the Zambezi River. We shall go onboard a comfortable vessel to begin our tour down the river which is home to the famous Victoria Falls
While the last rays of the sun fall over the Zambezi River, we shall see how the landscape is transformed with warm orange tones. From the boat’s deck, you shall have the opportunity to spot hippos, crocodiles, and even elephants on the banks or the river.
Against the backdrop of the setting sun, you shall observe flocks of birds gliding through the sky and you shall have a picture postcard panorama of the African continent. Snacks and drinks shall be served onboard.
Day 5: Sunday 9th April 2023
Livingstone to Lusaka
A lazy day after the Numerous Adrenaline Activities. Still more we have to drive back to Lusaka for our quick shopping. Checking out of the Lodge as early as 7am, Breakfast can be packed for the road. ETA in Lusaka is 1400hrs and we shall drive straight to Manda Hill and East Park Mall.
A night in Lusaka at our Lodge on Bed and Breakfast Arrangement still.
Day 6: Monday, 10th April 2023
Lusaka to Lilongwe
After Breakfast we drive we drive back to Lilongwe
ETA in Lilongwe is 1700hrs because of the stops along the way…………a fun and joy ride back home.
